Turf Renovation this winter

The board approved a very wide scoping plan this month to do some intense turf renovation. Since the city has restricted our watering this year we were not able to plant a summer grass, and our winter Rye died off once the summer heat kicked in. We had our landscapers check the soil and the over all condition of the soil and turf and we found out that we had a very out of balance PH and that we have many types of turf, not all are planned or wanted. So to help bring the grass we have and want to keep back to a better state, we will be doing some major work.

1. Grass will be scalped to allow the water to get in the roots.
2. The soil will be aerated - which has not been done for 5 year and is way over due.
3. A winter grass seed will be placed,
4. A topper soil will be added to hold in water and add some much needed nutrition to the soil.
5.Next spring we will be adding a summer blend grass seed, to keep the grass green all summer, even if the watering ban is keep in place.

Thank you,

Jeff - HOA
